ABOUT

Thomas Walden is a CPA/CA with over 25 years of senior financial and consulting experience who has worked on over 500 film and television projects and collected hundreds of millions of dollars in federal, provincial and state tax credits, Telefilm, Ontario Creates, NOHFC, Cogeco and other investments for his clients. Prior to BTS, he worked with the largest entertainment companies in Canada including Alliance Atlantis, Lions Gate, Salter Street Films, Cineplex Odeon and Concert Productions International (CPI) on many landmark film and television productions (including many Emmy/Genie/Gemini award winners) and live performances (including the world tours of the Rolling Stones, U2, Paul McCartney, and 100+ other bands). He is a former tax auditor with Canada Revenue Agency where he reviewed and assessed billion dollar firms, tax planning vehicles and complex international transactions.

Both as Co-Founder and Co-President of High Park Entertainment, and independently, Thomas has produced and executive produced a number of films and television projects, most recently including the film “Trigger Point” (starring Barry Pepper and theatrically released in the US), and the series “V-Wars” (a Netflix Original starring Ian Somerhalder), with previous projects including the films “Nightrunners” (shot in rural Kenya and premiering at the Zanzibar International Film Festival) and “Expecting” (winner of the Audience Choice Award at the Vancouver International Film Festival).

Thomas is a founding partner in Fuzerly, a web-based (and soon mobile) app that enables fans to make authorized memes, GIF’s and fan art of their favourite celebrities for online uses and on custom merch, and he was a founding partner in BITE-TV, a Canadian digital broadcaster than won an International Emmy for Best Interactive Channel, and Digital Howard, an award-winning 360 digital content producer.

Tom can often be found at his cottage kayaking, or on the dock looking at the loons, beavers, otters, or gorgeous sunsets. When in the city; gardening and hiking, playing hockey or golf, or at the game cheering for the Raptors and Blue Jays.

Thomas was a Chancellor’s Scholar and graduated Magna Cum Laude from McMaster University.
